WHAT TO DO IF YOUR CHILD HAS SEIZURE (Febrile)

Febrile Seizures in Children:

What to do if your child has febrile seizure? Febrile seizure is a convulsion in kids (Kids ages 6 months to 5 years old) caused by a sudden spike of body temperature or fever. It can happen during the first few hours of fever and could last up to a minute or two, however, in rare cases it may last up to 15 minutes. In most cases this kind of seizure is usually harmless or does not result in long term or ongoing problem, even so, seeing a child experiencing febrile seizure is truly terrifying.

Febrile seizure is different from “epilepsy” for aside from recurrent seizures, epilepsy is not caused or accompanied by fever.
