TRAFFIC SIGNS MEANINGS: ROAD SIGNS:
YOUR DAILY ROAD SIGNS
Traffic signs are divided into 3 categories. [1] Regulatory Signs [2] [3]
Regulatory Signs – The most prominent traffic signs or symbols that you usually see. From the root word regulation, regulation means law, and if it a law, you must obey.

PRIORITY TRAFFIC SIGNS :
Stop, Give Way and Left Turner Must Give way Signs are known as the priority Signs.
Stop Sign – Means a vehicle approaching a stop sign shall stop at a clearly marked stop line, a marked or unmarked crosswalk, but if none, then at point nearest the intersection where the driver can see in both directions without entering the cross traffic in front of him/her.
Give Way Sign – Means you are approaching an intersection where you must yield to any lanes you are intended to enter or cross approaching from the right to left. It is your responsibility to slow down. Look at the right or left and yield to oncoming traffic.
DIRECTION TRAFFIC SIGNS :

Two way Traffic Sign – It means you are on or approaching a street or highway carrying two-way traffic. These roads will usually be marked with broken yellow center lines and you must drive to the right of the line except when passing.
Right Merging Traffic Sign – Tells you that you are approaching a location where traffic may be entering from another roadway and you will be merging from this traffic. Here the sign shows that the traffic may be entering from your right.
All Traffic (Arrow Pointing Right) – tells you to slow down and be prepared for a rather sharp turn to the right.
PROHIBITIVE RESTRICTION TRAFFIC SIGNS :


No Pedestrian Crossing Sign – Predestrians are not aloowed to cross the road
No Right Turn Sign – Means you cannot make a right turn.
No Left Turn Sign – Means you cannot make a left turn.
No Overtaking Sign –
SPEED TRAFFIC SIGNS :

Speed Limit Signs – Tells you the maximum speed limit at which you may travel.
Minimum Speed Limit Signs – Indicates the minimum speed at which it is safe to travel. No traffic more slowly that the minimum speed limit may use the highway.

Traffic Sign: The Wrong Way Sign
Means you are entering or traveling on a one way roadway in the wrong direction. Your should immediately stop and reverse your direction. |

Traffic Sign: Approaching a Divided Highway or Traffic Island Sign
With an arrow curving to the right around a traffic island (bullet sign) symbol on the left appears when you are approaching a divided highway or traffic island where traffic must keep right. |

Traffic Sign: Lane Use Control Sign
Is use over a lane to show that all traffic in that lane must turn left. |

Traffic Sign: Lane Use Control Sign
Is use over a lane where a left turn or straight movement is permitted. |

Traffic Sign: No Right Turn on Red Light
Is use at some intersections to tell you that you CAN-NOT turn right on red at that intersection. The law permits you to turn on red traffic signal unless a sign prohibits it. If no sign is present, you must first stop, look both ways and yield to any other vehicles or pedestrian lawfully in or near the intersection. |

Traffic Sign: Slower Traffic Keep Right Sign
Means slower traffic should drive in the right (outside) lane and faster traffic should should take the inside left lane. |

Traffic Sign: The Speed Limit Sign
Tells you the maximum speed limit at which you may travel. |

Traffic Sign: The Minimum Speed Limit Sign
Indicates the minimum speed at which it is safe to travel. No traffic more slowly that the minimum speed limit may use the highway. |

Traffic Sign: The Traffic Signal Sign
Tells you that you are approaching a traffic signal and should slow down and be prepared o stop. |

Traffic Sign: Two Way Traffic Sign
It means you are on or approaching a street or highway carrying two-way traffic. These roads will usually be marked with broken yellow center lines and you must drive to the right of the line except when passing. |

Traffic Sign: Skidding Car Sign
Shows you that the road you are traveling can be slippery and may cause skidding when wet and that you should reduce your speed. |

Traffic Sign: The Truck Going Down an Incline Sign
Indicating you are approaching Hill. |

Traffic Sign: The Right Merging Traffic Sign
Tells you that you are approaching a location where traffic may be entering from another roadway and you will be merging from this traffic. Here the sign shows that the traffic may be entering from your right. |

Traffic Sign: Entering a Divided Highway Sign
The two arrows pointing in opposite directions with a traffic island (bullet shaped symbol) at the top of the sign tells you that a divided highway is ahead. you must move to the right and should not pass within this area. |

Traffic Sign: Coming to the end of a divided highway
The two arrows pointing in opposite directions with a traffic island (bullet shaped symbol) at the bottom means the the divided highway is coming to an end and that you must prepare to meet traffic coming toward you in the opposite lane. |
