One and 2-year-old kids need physical limits while verbal limits should be enough for kids ages 3 to 4 years old. They say that kids respond to discipline as young as nine (9) months old.

For babies, the best response is “redirection.” Remove the temptation! If he likes to bite his toy, remove the toy, and redirect his attention to other activities!

For Toddlers, give choices and teach consequences. Example, your child loves running away from you when he’s outside, you can say,” you can’t play outside if you run in the street.” Your child learns that his poor choice has consequences.

For preschoolers, catch them being good and ignore undesirable behavior. Three to four-year-old kids aim to please and strive for their parents’ attention, so noticing good behavior will minimize ugly attention-seeking reactions.
Disciplining your child is essential to their physical and mental health. As parents, you have a significant impact on their behavior, that’s why your proper guidance is a must. When children have adequate guidance and discipline, they can acquire the skills required to be a responsible adult.
